Welcome to the NCMD Lab

About the NCMD Lab

The NCMD Lab is dedicated to understanding the role of nutrition in chronic metabolic diseases, with a primary focus on obesity and diabetes. Using in vitro (cell-based) and in vivo (animal model) experiments, we study how specific nutrients and metabolic processes influence the development and progression of these conditions.

Our research focuses on identifying the molecular mechanisms that affect insulin sensitivity, glucose metabolism, and inflammation, contributing to metabolic dysfunction. While obesity and diabetes are our main areas of study, we also explore related conditions, such as liver cancer, to better understand broader metabolic impacts.

At the NCMD Lab, we aim to translate our experimental findings into practical solutions that can prevent and manage metabolic diseases. By deepening our understanding of how nutrition affects metabolic health, we work toward developing targeted interventions to improve long-term health outcomes.
